This section describes the official academic registrar records, course grades, semester GPAs, and classroom course co-enrollment dyads across participants’ four-year college trajectories (2011–2015).

1.1 Download Datasets

1.1.1 1. Course Letter Grades & Credits

Longitudinal course enrollment panel (\(N = 5,779\) course enrollments across 111 students) tracking course enrollments, Course Reference Numbers (CRNs), official registrar letter grades, 4.0 scale grade points, and college year progression.

Dyadic co-presence network panel (\(N = 979\) shared course dyads) identifying which NetSense students shared the exact same course sections and classroom lectures each semester.

1.2 Data Schema & Variables

1.2.1 Course Letter Grades

Variable Type Description
egoid Integer Standard 5-digit student participant identifier
term Integer Academic semester code (e.g., 201110 = Fall 2011, 201420 = Spring 2015)
semester Character Human-readable semester label (Fall 2011, Spring 2012, etc.)
academic_year Character Academic year (2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015)
college_year Character Cohort progression stage (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior)
crn Integer Course Reference Number for the specific lecture/lab section
final_grade Character Official registrar letter grade (A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D, F, S, P, AD, IB, TR, CE, U)
grade_points Numeric Numeric grade points on the standard 4.0 scale (A = 4.0 to F = 0.0; NA for pass/fail/transfer credits)
is_letter_grade Binary 1 = Standard graded course contributing to GPA; 0 = Pass/fail, audit, or credit code
